Reno Spanish AcademyReno, Nevada, otherwise known as “The Biggest Little City in the World,” certainly lives up to its name. Aside from its casinos and flashing lights, Reno has many enriching cultural activities to offer. Hispanic and Latino organizations in the city are prevalent and range in purpose from restaurants to professional services to media outlets. The Latino Research Center at the University of Nevada, Reno, is a great resource for Spanish speakers in the city. The Centro de Investigacion Latino publishes an academic journal called Border-Lines and offers many special events geared towards the Hispanic population. For the fall, the Center is featuring an evening with Isabel Allende and a Latin American movie series that will run from September to October. If you can’t strike it rich in Reno gaming centers, why not enrich your child’s life by having them learn Spanish? Speaking a second language is an excellent way to pave a future with streets of gold. What educational goals do you have for your family? How can speaking Spanish help you achieve those goals? We’d love to hear your comments via the form on the right. |
